GPS Plug-In?
I'd like to use this GPS sensor if possible - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084M ... UTF8&psc=1
I've been reading through the forum and have read that there is a GPS plugin. This is stated in the docs as well here https://espeasy.readthedocs.io/en/lates ... hlight=GPS but I'm not sure how to add it.
Here is the build I'm using - ESP_Easy_mega_20200929_normal_ESP8266_4M1M
I'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious and could use some help please.
Thank you!

Re: GPS Plug-In?
I just looked closer and that plug-in is tagged as TESTING so I'm guessing I need to try a different build?
Re: GPS Plug-In?
Use a build with "test" in the name. For example,
ESP_Easy_mega_20200929_test_ESP8266_4M1M_VCC.bin
- Thomas
ESP_Easy_mega_20200929_test_ESP8266_4M1M_VCC.bin

Re: GPS Plug-In?
The GPS plugin is in the custom builds, too.
Code: Select all
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ man woman
No manual entry for woman
pi@raspberrypi:~ $
Re: GPS Plug-In?
Thank you all! This makes sense and I'll look at those builds.
Re: GPS Plug-In?
Just a quick update. I did install the test build and I have my GPS module working. The ESP8266 seems to be running really slow now and often tough to connect too. I realize that this is a test build and test plug-in so things are evolving. I'm pretty happy I got it working in general! That means only good things to come
Re: GPS Plug-In?
Realy slow response could be related to an issue I fixed about 1 or 2 weeks ago.
I just made a new nightly build, so you could maybe try that one to see if it improves?
The ESP should be able to handle the GPS data with ease, as I've been using it for about 2 years now on lots of setups.
