Wiegand best Practice

#1 Post by lumajo » 14 Feb 2021, 12:52

Hello,
I m using Wiegand RFID for my garage door since a couple of years now. They are based on ESP01 ad Wiegand ports are GPIO2 Green and GPIO0 for White.
This works perfectly.

Now I am about to transfer this to a node MCU, as I also want to use more GPIOs for Door opening, LCD and current measurement with the S0 Bus.

Now I started with the Wiegand to find the best GPIOs but not all seem to work fine. I now used the ones which i used at the ESP01 (D2 and D0).
But readying RFID Tags sometimes works sometimes show "reset bits:xx"
RFID : New Tag: 859000 Bits: 26
3032329 : Info : EVENT: RFID#Tag=859000
3033292 : Info : RFID : Removed Tag
3050277 : Info : RFID : reset bits: 27
3056277 : Info : RFID : reset bits: 27
3061832 : Info : WD : Uptime 51 ConnectFailures 0 FreeMem 24088 WiFiStatus 3 ESPeasy internal wifi status: Conn. IP Init
3064277 : Info : RFID : reset bits: 27
3067278 : Info : RFID : New Tag: 859000 Bits: 26
3067329 : Info : EVENT: RFID#Tag=859000
3068280 : Info : RFID : Removed Tag

3102277 : Info : RFID : reset bits: 27

can someone explain what I should do? Is it noise on the level shifter or on the power supply? How can I avoid it? As it is not reading the Tag its just saying reset bits ...
Maybe I need to buffer the data cable? or is it basically a stable signal?
