what exactly is the function of the vcc versions of the firmware?

If you need to monitor the battery of a battery driven unit you want to have VCC enabled. It must be done at compile time since it will take over the analog function internally.

can it alse be used to monitor power supply from adapter?

I eperienced sometimes VCC is shown as -1

If the variable output is "-1.0" it means that the VCC is not activated or that a reading has not been completed (could be due to incorrect cabling etc. etc.).

I remember that,...
if the "Delay" (Interval) for the Vcc-System-Device is set to 0, it's the same effect ;)

But TD-er had offered, that he change the behavior of the 0-delay-value of the devices, that these will be published once to the controller !?

Ok, I will leave it as it is for now. It's only a notice... We'll have to do a complete update of the wiki when we release 2.1
