Hi All,
I have a lot of devices running on esp easy R147. All Sonoff Basics.
I want to upgrade them to esp mega.
Unitl now I did not succeed in flashing them over the air.
What I tried:
1) Direct from 147 to ESP_Easy_mega-20180621 --> I get the message "Update failed!"
2) 147 --> 120: succes. 120 to ESP_Easy_mega-20180621 --> I get the message "Update failed!"
3)147 --> ESPEasyUploaderMega: succes, but the wifi connection is not remembered. I get an accespoint: ESP_E9EB21, which is an open accespoint.
I can connect to it, get an ip, but there is no webpage on 192.168.4.1. So I cannot proceed from here.
Of course I can upgrade via serial, but then I do need to detach them from the place where they are. A thing I do not want.
Anybody who did succeed in OTA flashing of a Sonoff Basic from normal to mega?

Is there any solution without screwdriver usage?

You upload a "ESPEasyUploaderMega" firmware that does nothing else than allow you to upload a new version of ESPeasy.
But you need to use a .bin file smaller or equal to 500kB, because you can use only half of ESP with 1MB of memory.
The first half is occupied by the downloader.

Re: Updating to mega
I did it with other switch. The Sonoff was not connected to the wifi network and did not give AP. It is unreachable now. Somebody wrote the "ESPEasyUploaderMega" does not handle memory the same way as R147.kimot wrote: ↑03 Feb 2019, 12:03 https://www.letscontrolit.com/wiki/inde ... MB_modules
