Sporadic NEOPIXEL errors when WIFI status LED enabled

#1 Post by chunter1 » 25 Oct 2018, 23:52

I got a stripe of 32 NEOPIXEL LEDs connected to GPIO 12.
Write a script that cycles through R-G-B with a brightness value of 1.
As long as the WIFI status LED (using GPIO 2) is disabled, all LEDs show the same color and intensity.
But as soon as i enable the WIFI status LED, occationally one or more LEDs show different color or brightness.
Is this a known issue (1-wire timing issue induced by WIFI LED PWM?) or am i doing something wrong?

Maybe you should test enabling the internal GPIO pull-up resistors of the used pins?
It may be possible the WiFi status LED is using a timer too to allow fading the light.

Checked the 1-wire signal with my scope for level and signal integrity - so far it's fine.
I definately suspect timing issues.
