Let's Control It

Does anyone read out the Victron MPPT direct from the serial output without the USB-cable. Up to now I use the walkaround with use of VE.direct-USB to my USB->WLAN-converter (the only one I found which works on linux) and then include it in my virtual debian on my NAS as if it's connectet direct there. From here it is up to now read by FHEM. Unfortunately the connection seems not to be really very stable and I like to use the MPPT direct with a ESP-device.

Is it possible? Has anyone done something like this?
