Need some help on RS232 request

Hi,
I would like to integrate my heating control via ESPEasy. I have already received instructions from the manufacturer of the heating control. However, it is not clear to me how to submit the requests and how to process the feedback. Specifically, I want to request about 40 values from the controller and forward them to EmonCms. The values have to be sent in hexadecimal and the response will be the same.
If the value cannot be delivered, the character 16 (Not ACK) is output. Would somebody please explain to me how I should process the 40 values ideally.

You mean using the Esp8266 by itself or you have a controller like Domoticz ?
