Hello,

I've just received my RFLINK Gateway from Nodo Shop.
After soldering all components, I've loaded the Firmware r44 to the Arduino board...
I've no RF log in RFLINK Loader v1.09
If I send the command "10;PING;", I've no answer
I tried the same with the previous version of the Firmware (r43) : no problem, I can see RF logs and ping is ok.
Can you explain to me if it's normal ? If yes, where can I find logs ?

Did you download a fresh copy of the r44 firmware?

Yes.
That's what I do the first.
I try one time : r44 doesn't work.
So I try to download a second time the firmware : same result (30 october,2016)
I'll try it again.

Huuum...
Always the same problem...
I only have this :
20;00;Nodo RadioFrequencyLink - RFLink Gateway V1.1 - R44;
20;01;MiLight=OFF;NO NRF24L01;
10;version;
10;status;

Nothing else.

With the r43, I've RF information...
Like this :
20;00;Nodo RadioFrequencyLink - RFLink Gateway V1.1 - R43;
20;01;MiLight=OFF;NO NRF24L01;
10;version;
20;02;VER=1.1;REV=43;BUILD=0a;
10;status;
20;03;CMD UNKNOWN;
20;04;Blyss;ID=ecbe;SWITCH=A0;CMD=ON;
20;05;Blyss;ID=ecbe;SWITCH=A0;CMD=OFF;
20;06;Blyss;ID=ecbe;SWITCH=A0;CMD=OFF;
20;07;Blyss;ID=ecbe;SWITCH=A0;CMD=ON;
20;08;Blyss;ID=ecbe;SWITCH=A0;CMD=OFF;
20;09;Blyss;ID=ecbe;SWITCH=A0;CMD=ON;
20;0A;Blyss;ID=ecbe;SWITCH=A0;CMD=OFF;

I have exactly the same problem as @samsoul

I have two arduino's with 2 RFlinks set up

On the first, I installed R43 and then upgraded to R44
> everything keeps working on both versions

On the second I installed R44 directly
> I see the same problem as @samsoul
When I now downgrade to R43 th RFlink starts working

I have switched the 2 arduino's and rflinks with each other
Arduino 1 + RFlink 1 > R43 OK and R44 OK
Arduino 1 + RFlink 2 > R43 OK and R44 OK
Arduino 2 + RFlink 1 > R43 OK and R44 Not OK
Arduino 2 + RFlink 2 > R43 OK and R44 Not OK

This makes me believe, the problem is not the hardware.
The soldering of the RFlinks is good and the Arduino's both work wit R43

Correct, the issue is that one of the features that require additional hardware is activated.
That, together with the hardware detection failing on some Arduino Mega's causes a problem.

Is the "Bluetooth LE Advertisement packet sniffing" enabled by default or does it need a special command?

Hi there, I am no to RFLink and have just built the nodo-shop device.

If I run the R43 firmware all is well and I receive data correctly however if I upgrade to 44 or 45 I get no responses to commands and receive no debug data. I think this is the same issue as described above.

Is there a fix/hardware mode I need to apply in order to correct this issue?

Thanks

Put a wire between pin 12 and 13 reboot rflink, remove wire, reboot again and all will be fine.
R46 will not have these issues.

@Stuntteam
Hi,

I know there is already topic with newer R45 and R46 however I would like to keep this post here because there is potential solution mentioned above.
One year ago I have bought RFlink (on PCB its v1.1.1) to control my 433MHz devices, I noticed there is a possibility now to use MySensors also. Thats why I have upgraded firmware to R46 to check it. Unfortunately, checking debug log on RFLink Loader I see:

"20;00;Nodo RadioFrequencyLink - RFLink Gateway V1.1 - R46;
20;01;MySensors=OFF;NO NRF24L01;"

This is also visible if I upgrade my Mega2560 with R43, R44, R45. I have tried three different NRF antennas to isolate problem with nrf module failure. I did not have any issues with RFLink to use it with 433MHz appliances. Your solution with wiring together Pin 12 & Pin could solve this behaviour? Should I wire it with RFLink module attached or detached? How about power. Wiring once device is up and running or wire it when power off -> then turn on -> then reboor -> then remove wire -> turn on and reboot?

Thanks for input
Cheers
Maciek

Have you installed a NRF24L01 module?
You can use either the one linked above with removeable antenna and
integrated PA and LNA for maximum range or a cheaper version with
shorter range...

@data
Hey,

I do have NRF24L01 module already installed like here:
Image

I have tried module with built in external antenna and smaller one without external antenna. Unfortunately results are the same.

Thanks,
Maciek

Have you enabled the module according to http://www.nemcon.nl/blog2/faq#Freq3 ?

See Q: What do I need to do besides add the NRF24L01?

Yes, I was testing this step on R44, R45 and R46. I had "window popup" with information that it was "activated" but in the logs I saw the same "MySensors=OFF;NO NRF24L01;"

I see the following in FAQ:
Q: Can I use the NRF24L01 socket on the Nodo PCB for Milight signals?
A: That depends on the Nodo PCB version.
Version 1.1.3 and higher: Yes.
Versions below 1.1.3: No, the NodoNRF socket uses a software SPI solution while the NRF for Milight is using the hardware SPI pins.
Maybe it is not "direct" to MySensors but, if I have v1.1.1 on my RFLink PCB it means I cannot use NRF module for MySensors?

Is your PCB exactly the same as depicted above? If not, post an actual photo, please.

The one in the image you've provided is wired up for MiLight / Applamp / Limitless Led support.
This configuration uses pins on the 'digital' port (pins 22-53) whereas the "NODO NRF24L01" Sensor
support is wired to the 'analog' ports.
