BME280 Humidity Reading

#1 Post by DutchTerror » 16 Mar 2017, 12:43

OK, after ordering the wrong sensor the first time around (BMP280), I finally got my BME280 modules in. Swapped it in to my project running the 147 build and my temperature and pressure readings came back online basically the same. What's baffling me is the humidity reading. It's currently reading 11.1 (percent RH I'm assuming?). That seems awfully low. It's sitting in my office here in a school, so no extreme conditions. Current outdoor weather stations in the area are showing 74%-78% RH at the moment. I don't have any other sensor to compare it to, but it seems wrong. Any thoughts?

OK, as a test I moved the unit outside and the numbers moved up in "normal" ranges, especially compared with other weather stations in the area. I guess the humidity in our office is just that low! Probably not good for servers and the like.

This dry climate is perfect for machines but not so for humans. ;)
