Running sketches on top of EspEasy firmware

#1 Post by billymac » 05 Apr 2017, 18:28

I asked this question in another way a while back-
'Running extra logic along with ESPEasy firmware '

What I am trying to find out is since ESPEasy is a firmware, not a sketch, can you create files similar to Arduino sketches and save them to the device on top of the firmware using Arduino IDE or something else and be able to run them in a rule for example.
SO- could I for example put a loop like in the blink example and then in a rule do something like Run Blink.ino

If that is not possible, should I look at adding my code to the ESPEasy firmware (from github) and re-flash it?

I was thinking of doing it all with rules but the rules language doesn't appear to be very flexible

ESPEasy is a "firmware" and a Arduino like sketch, because the whole "firmware" is nothing more than a, bit complex, arduino sketch, you can checkout the code and compile the whole code yourself, so you can modify it if you want, have a look at the developer doku in the wiki to get a understanding of who this works...
