ESP Easy and software versions

#1 Post by jefman » 10 Apr 2017, 10:16

Hi,

I'm a bit confused on what version are availeble, in wiki there is only reference and guide to R147_RC8 firmware but on threads on the forum there is a refernce to version 2.0.0x. What is the differences? do I load the 2.0.0x in the same way as R147?

Thanks for great software!

Hello,

The R14x-Versions are older versions, the 2.0.0 formerly known as "ESPEasy Mega" are newer versions.
The 2.0.0 is quite new so not every thread in the wiki is up to date.
(In fact, not everything in the wiki is up to date to the R14x versions)

But don't worry. You may flash the 2.0.0 version in the same way a R14x is flashed.
With the zip-file containing the binaries you get the flash tool, just use it.

Within the GUI some things have changed a bit.
Tasks can be enabled or disabled, so don't forget to check the "Enabled" box in the Task.
You may use several controllers now, so controller settings have moved into it's own tab.
As the really big changes were made "under the hood" using the 2.0.0 is quite the same as with R14x.

But all in all it just takes a hour of playing to get used to the changes.

Ok, then I'll go ahead and load the 2.0. Can old R14x versions be updated through the firmware load in Web UI?

Thanks for explaining :)
