Wiring a Wemos D1 Mini with a JQ6500

#1 Post by mvveelen » 22 Jan 2018, 21:05

Hi,

I have a JQ6500 sound module I'd like to control with a Wemos D1 Mini.

The Wemos is powered by a 2A Samsung charger and a micro USB cable and connected to my WiFi. The JQ6500 can be connected to the 5V and the GND to get power to the JQ6500, right?

So, to make a .wav file play, the GND has to be connected to the K1 on the JQ6500 module. This should be possible to accomplish with the Wemos I hope. But how should I connect the wires: GND to GND, but the K1 (JQ6500) to....what pin on the Wemos? Just select a GPIO and then what?

Any ideas from you guys? I'm not sure I'm making a big mistake..... :geek:

... I just have take a look at the Schematic of the JQ6500 ...
What I don't know is if the WeMOS Port a OC or PushPull. If OC you have to connect a Resistor (4k7 to 10k... what you have in your pocket) from K1 to +Ub and then K1 to the chosen Port. If WeMOS- Port PushPull simple connect both. An then switch on and off the Port like a starting- pulse (if ON = HIGH) and you're ready...
I also don't know if the Soundmodul paying again and again if the K1 will be HIGH or if the K1 must be LOW and HIGH again to play again. You can connect a condenser (100n to 220n) in series between GPIO and K1 to create only a startpulse (GPIO must be PushPull and K1 must have a PullDown arround 2k2 to 5k6

I connected the modules like this:

5V (Wemos) <-> VCC (JQ6500)
GND (Wemos) <-> GND, next to VCC (JQ6500)
D6/GPIO12 (Wemos) <-> K1 (JQ6500)

And it works:

No need for Resistors, right ?

... if it work well then your'e right. That also means that the ESP use PushPull or the input of your "dingeldidongthing" have an internal Pullup (that also works well if the ESP have a OC / OD Port...
