%eventvalue%

#1 Post by uxhamby » 11 Dec 2020, 19:16

OK, I am playing with an esp01 running espeasy v R120.

I read on, what I believe to be, the version appropriate rules tutorial page about %eventvalue%.

I have set up a simple set of rules as follows:
on remoteTimerControl do
gpio,0,0
gpio,2,1
timerSet,1,%eventvalue%
endon

on Rules#Timer=1 do
gpio,0,1
gpio,2,0
endon
gpio 0 and 2 have leds on them

As per the rules tutorial page I am sending

esp17.lan/control?cmd=event,remoteTimerControl=5

via http.

I see the leds change as I would expect but the timing seems off, so I retry wiht other values

esp17.lan/control?cmd=event,remoteTimerControl=50
esp17.lan/control?cmd=event,remoteTimerControl=1000

timing seems not to change proportional to eventvalue and is highly variable regardless of the eventvalue value sent.

Where am I going wrong?

Thanks,

Brian H.

Please also read that R120 is waay to old. You should retest with a more recent version. Much good have happened since R120 😀

See this for more recent versions:

And where did you find a link to R120?

This is only a 1M esp01 version of the hardware. Do up to date revisions of espeasy fit on such a device?

They do fit, but you may not be able to perform an OTA update.

Totally Off Topic, no relation to ESPEasy or the topic itself. Maybe uxhamby may understand.
