I have post this message on Domoticz forum as well. But since NodeMcu with EspEasy is in between I thought postjng hete as well is good idea.
Hi!
I am having a Kwh meter with pulse output.(2000 pulses = 1 Kwh).
This output is hooked onto a NodeMcu v3.
The NodeMcu communicates with Domoticz using MQTT @ timeinterval of 60 seconds.
In Domoticz a virtual sensor 'counter' shows the momentairy electrical consumption in Watt's.
There is a strange behaviour of the display. The correct value is displayed every 60 seconds according the NodeMcu interval. But after some time (but within the 60 sec) the counter displays 0.
In the log this 0 value is not seen and thus not disturbing the correct presentation of the graph which still shows the correct value(s).
Is there anybody who recognizes this behaviour and does know a workaround?
TIA
Bart

Re: Counter (Domoticz) displays alternating right value and zer0
Can you show the task configuration you are using?
What value do you send to Domoticz?
Sounds like you didn't receive the minimal number of pulses in the last minute (either 1 or 2?)

Re: Counter (Domoticz) displays alternating right value and zer0
Pls see two screenshots.
Does these make sense?
The 0 value is there for ca. 10 seconds followed by the correct value for ca. 50 sec.
I uses the MQTTexplorer and found that the 0 value is sent to Domoticz and than after those 10 se the actual value.
This sequence every minute.
Thanks for yr help

Re: Counter (Domoticz) displays alternating right value and zer0
Hmm strange it actually sends 2 values to the MQTT broker.
Do you run anything from the rules too?
Is it possible another node in your network is also sending something using the same IDX?
This can be checked by simply turning off this node, to see if it still gets updated.

Re: Counter (Domoticz) displays alternating right value and zer0
I'm ashame.
You are right, another node also sent data to the same IDX via the broker. Sorry for wasting your time.
To explain: I am having 5 different temp measurings around boiler and heatpump. Than I experimented with power measuring of heatpump (ElGa) on seperate NodeMcu Once that was OK I transferred to the otherone to get powermeasuring too but unplugged on my desk a wrong device keeping my experimental NodeMcu alive. That way it kept sending 0 values as the pulse-sensor was transferred to the other NodeMcu.
Once again, thanks for your help but sorry for my mistake. ( although a good lesson fir how to debug using MQTT-explorer)

Re: Counter (Domoticz) displays alternating right value and zer0
Don't worry... Just think of why I thought of it to check for other nodes running with the same IDX
