Newbie: HowTo for Custom Build

#1 Post by Archie_ndw » 02 Jul 2023, 00:10

Hi,

i´m a Newbie and would like to ask for a Link or a Hint for a HowTo for doing a Custom Build.
I´m familiar with ESP-Easy - but now I´m at the point where I need a Custom Build for my project.
So I need Display Support Plugins together with enviromet Plug-Ins and SD-Card Support activated.
So thats out of the Standard Builds why i´m looking for a howto for doing a custom.

Thanks for help and hints
Andrew

Ton made a huge effort in documenting how to start contributing to ESPEasy: https://espeasy.readthedocs.io/en/lates ... on-espeasy

And I've made a video over 2 years ago (so some links may be outdated as well as the Python version, we now use 3.9 or newer)

This may help you setup your build env. to be able to compile ESPEasy yourself.

Then you either create a Custom.h based on the Custom-sample.h file, or edit the pre_custom_esp32.py (or the ESP8266 version)

Exactly what I needed.
Thanks a lot for the incredible fast Answer!

Usually my neighbour will keep me updated on the race by cheering, but today he is in Austria for the race.
However I got the feeling I could still hear him when Max is as successful as yesterday :)
Only the delay would be an hour due to the distance and speed of sound ;)
