Hi everyone,
I’m new to this forum and excited to learn more about ESP-based projects and home automation. I’ve been working with ESP8266 and ESP32 for small IoT projects, but I’m looking to expand into sensor integration and automation setups.
What are some must-know tips for optimizing ESP devices for stable performance in home automation? Also, are there any recommended plugins or firmware I should explore for easier setup and control?
Looking forward to your advice and learning from this community! Thanks!

Re: Getting Started with ESP and Home Automation
Hi there. Since you wanna start with home automation projects using the ESP32, you start with relay control. Do some projects on interfacing relays with the ESP32 and how to control the relays though wifi. Initially, you can learn how to make a webserver to turn the relays ON/Off. Then you can move forward. You can use BLYNK, Easpeasy or Domoticz to control the relays. Gradually integrate alexa , google home etc. with your project. At first, keep it simple. Start with single-channel relays. Gradually move to 4-channel, 8 channel etc. Test your code and setup with the relay only. Connect the loads later. This way it will be easier to find out if there is any error in the connection or code. Here are some docs and tutorials that may help you.
