Check Values plugin & Alarm PINS for buzzer and light

Hi there,
Is the "value check" plugin still interesting for somebody ?
I'd like raise an alarm (flashing light adn buzzer) if some level (i.e. power) is higher than a threshold
Is there some need for such a feature ?
I do know that can/is to be done by the controller, but my scenario is one of a single-node project.....
