Hello from Munich

#1 Post by cwhb2020 » 25 Dec 2020, 17:12

Hi all,

i have been interested in home automation for some time.
After reading an article about the so called Tuya hack i bought me a pair of 'smart' Wi-Fi plugs and flashed them OTA with Tasmota.
As i was curious about the ESP8266 and its features it was inevitable i discovered ESP Easy shortly afterwards.
Being almost bored to death during the first lock-down in March '20 playing around with D1-Mini and ESP-01 saved my life or so ;-)

As a teen i started with doing electronic experiments / RC modelling, studied computer science / electronical engineering later and now i'm senior technical support / consultant with a world-wide software company.

Glad the various ESP firmware options could help in saving your life :)
It was never intended to be used for life and death situations, but users keep surprise me on the use cases ;)

Welcome!
