Using the BMP680 outdoors.

Does anyone have an idea how to protect the BMP680 sensor outside?
After about 9 months of operation, the BMP680 still correctly displays temperature and humidity, but the pressure and AQI readings are completely random (e.g. AQI = 1200).
Currently, the sensor is installed in a "housing" made of a plastic spray cap, with the open part facing down.
The whole thing is mounted under the roof and it never rains on it. I covered the plate itself with plastic spray, (without chip itself of course).
Nevertheless, the BMP was damaged.
Does anyone have any experience in this area?

In a lot of datasheets for chips that need to be exposed to air, it is mentioned how you need to package these chips.
For example, you never should use tape or "transparent" anti static bags.
The reason for this is that these plastics may "vape" some chemicals which may then get attached to the sensor itself.

For this reason, you should also never use a resin 3D printer to print enclosures for such sensors as these resins may release chemicals for quite some time. Even after being cured using UV.

I guess your plastic spray may act the same here.

Well. I will replace the plastic cap with an aluminum one and the sensor itself. We'll see what happens in a few months.
