Sensor-Device ADD over Web

#1 Post by endus » 30 Dec 2022, 11:31

Good morning,

I've only recently started working with ESP modules.
ESP-Easy is a great thing!

I have an ESP8266 1M with the following firmware:
Build: ESP_Easy_mega_20221224_normal_ESP8266_1M_VCC
I can access the ESP via the web frontend and add Devices.

Now to my question:
Can I add a sensor via the web frontend - AHT10 (which is not in the standard?)
https://espeasy.readthedocs.io/en/lates ... #p105-page
Or is there an easy way to add it?

The firmware I found is only for ESPs with 4M.

regards
Christoph

It needs to be included in the build.
So you could make a custom build only containing what you need.
However the 1M flash is really a burden here as you need to flash a new build via serial again.
If possible, I would strongly suggest to replace the flash chip with a 4M version as it really is a limitation to have only 1M of flash.

Thank you for the fast answer!

Do you know a good and easy forum post on how to do a custom build?

We have a Developer guide, in the documentation, but best to start reading at the top of that page: https://espeasy.readthedocs.io/en/lates ... ormIO.html

Many Thanks.
I'll try it or I'll take other sensors ;)
I will consider the tip with the 4M ESP for the next purchase.
