QMC5883L vs HCM5883L
Hello! Is it possible to add support for the new QMC5883L? It has a different i2c address and slightly different data addresses. The differences are described here https://1wire.com.ua/download/qmc5883l_dif.pdf, and here https://github.com/dthain/QMC5883L is a sensor library for Arduino. These sensors are sold by JLC for installation. I bought a few to try, but all I managed to do was change the i2c address and that's not enough to work. Thanks for the quick help!

I'll have a look if this can be included in the HMC5883 plugin P121.
No ETA, lots of other projects going, currently...

You can consider using esphome. It supports QMC5883L.

That's a rather silly remark on the ESPEasy forumbidrohini wrote: ↑05 Nov 2023, 14:51 You can consider using esphome. It supports QMC5883L.

We are trying to help people in using ESPEasy, not sending them away

I am sorry. I thought that both ESPeasy and ESPhome were maintained by the same authority.Ath wrote: ↑05 Nov 2023, 16:32That's a rather silly remark on the ESPEasy forumbidrohini wrote: ↑05 Nov 2023, 14:51 You can consider using esphome. It supports QMC5883L.

Re: QMC5883L vs HCM5883L
Nope, there are several firmwares for ESP processors.
- ESPEasy (this project)
- Tasmota (Owned by Theo Arends, the "TA" in Tasmota)
- ESPHome (maintained by the people who also develop Home Assistant)
- ESPurna (maintained by XosePerez and Max Prokhorov (MCSPR))
Even though I know all of these people and behind the scenes we do have contact about common issues, these are all different projects.
So it is not that we're fierce competitors, but still it is a bit strange to give advice on this forum to move to another platform if things are slightly unclear.
N.B. Theo Arends from Tasmota lives less than 20 km from where I live.
