struggle with ntp setting

#1 Post by BartSr » 18 Dec 2023, 23:00

given 12 ESP's
I want to use NTP timeserver.
So this is what I got after setting the NTP server.
What I tried: take power off and also tried reboot.
Can this be caused as all ESP's do communicate to each other? In other building with some ESP's I managed to do with same settings. It shows overthere time source NTP.
(but time is not accurate and differs about 15 min.)

How is the network configuration of your ESP?
Looks like you might not have a gateway and/or DNS configured.

N.B. you can leave the hostname for the NTP server empty as it will use the same ntp pool, but then a bit more random to what is available.
Just have the checkbox checked to use NTP.

I also saw an a ESP getting by p2p from another ESP time data.

If you're using DHCP from the router, this should not be a problem.
Then you perhaps might be blocking traffic from ESPEasy nodes to the internet?

If you're using static IP, then please check the "Config" tab.
You can also see the current network values on the sysinfo page.

Things to look for:
- IP
- Subnet
- Gateway
- DNS

The gateway and DNS will probably have the same IP-address as your router.

Check if there are any firewall rules blocking NTP traffic or if the ESPs are on a network that restricts outgoing NTP requests.
