District heating - Reading Kamstrup Multical 401
I have a Kamstrup Multical 401 installed at home as a metering device for my district heating system.
This device is standard equiped with an IR interface in order to extract data.
Based on some Danish forum posts / websites I created a 'sensor' and a ESPEasy plugin in order to get this information into Domoticz.
Plugin: https://github.com/letscontrolit/ESPEas ... mstrup.ino
Within the ESPEasy interface I convert the Heat value from MJ to kWh. This makes processing in Domoticz easier.
Within Domoticz I use regular RFXmeter counters.
The ESP-12E is also used to read from my smart-energy meter via the P1-interface
The proto-PCB is held on it's place with a simple magnet
IR RX/TX sensor layout/setup based on http://wiki.hal9k.dk/projects/kamstrup
schematic http://wiki.hal9k.dk/_media/projects/ka ... ematic.pdf

Very interesting sTuff!!
THanks for sharing..
1 single simple question ..... "Normally" the meter is checked once in a year by the provider to be able to send you an invoice.
How often do you interrogate the device ? Are you not afraid draining the battery too quickly?
Greetings
Frank

Soooo nice! Any chance of adding support for the IEC 62056-21 protocol? (Iskrameco MT372)
Re: District heating - Reading Kamstrup Multical 401
I am not familiar with this protocol. But I guess it should not be too difficult...? I cannot do this, because I don't have a IEC 62056-21 compatible device.
For now I have set a interval of 5 minutes to generate some data; but this might drain the battery too quickly. My meter is already 12 years old... So maybe close to EOL of the battery.freijn wrote: ↑16 Mar 2017, 22:21 Very interesting sTuff!!

I will change to every hour of even less.

A bit late to this post - Looks good.
Is there some way to set up a centralised heating thermostat controller with the Multical 401? Tired of individually controlling my radiators! .

Re: District heating - Reading Kamstrup Multical 401
I have a plugin problem,
When I connect the optical head to the USB, I'm reading the calorimeter normally,
but it does not show any readings in the espeasy plugin.
in the log writes a timeout ...
I tried with wemos d1 and d1 mini...
Also how to add more variables, such as t1, t2, dif. T
Is there any plugin for 402, 601, 602
their logic for reading is simpler because they use 1200, 8n 2, do not use for request 300, and read 1200 baud.
Please help

Yes, I find this.
I try it with original (base) code, but I have this response:
Any idea?
