The D1-Pro from WEMOS has a connector for an external antenna.
Very useful, but (in hindsight) I 'overestimated' the dimensions of that (micro)connector.
Regardless whether I can find a compatible connector, it is most probable that soldering of such connector is beyond my skill-level.
Looked around, but did not (yet) find a ready-made transition cable from this micro-connector to a 'normal' SMA-connector.
Any hints where to find?

Try this...
https://www.itead.cc/2-4ghz-2db-vertica ... cable.html
Or direct to this one... https://www.itead.cc/2-4g-wifi-fpc-ante ... ector.html
It appears to be a ipex connector, but the wemos site does not say.
I have both of these to test the PSF-A85, but can't get to it until the first of the year.

Re: Antenna-connector cable for WEMOS D1-Pro
Some further search revealed that the required cable seems a transition from IPX (or IPEX) to SMA.
Found this offer as cheapest.
For slightly more money you can buy a complete 6dB-antenna.
Sure suitable for inside application, but how long would such antenna live in an outside environment?

A list of available UF.L / IPEX pigtails can be found here :Ton_vN wrote:The D1-Pro from WEMOS has a connector for an external antenna.

Have a look at http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/6UnaiII
I just ordered a bunch of these. For about 70ct you get the cable with matching connectors and an external antenna.
Alternativelly, you can buy just the pigtail without antenna in different lengths:
e.g. 15cm http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/372vBA2 or 20cm http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/qvfAyrb

Re: Antenna-connector cable for WEMOS D1-Pro
The antenna of that deal for Euro 0,70 sure looks less fragile and more suitable for outside/exposed use than the 6 dB-antenna I found.
The gain of that 6 dB-antenna is nice, but it should be protected against touching by 'uninstructed users', which means fixed installation inside a box, with related (some) loss of gain.

Re: Antenna-connector cable for WEMOS D1-Pro
I just did a quick search and this is the cheapest set with a 6dBi antenna and suitable Pigtail I found: http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/NJqBuzR
Or you wait until you get those cheap sets and then head out for a high gain antenna with the matching connector.
Since my order has not arrived yet, I can't tell if the connector is RP-SMA or SMA (I guess RP-SMA).
