Possible to send temp data with rules?

#1 Post by DMeekelenkamp » 28 Nov 2016, 16:42

Hello,

I have a jacuzzi with a temp sensor Ds18B20 this sensor is put against the metal heater tube. what i want is to read this data when the pump is running because the tube cools down and then i dont have accurate readings. the jacuzzi filters 2 times a day from 5 to 6 am and from 10 to 11 pm could it be possible to create a rule that the data is send for example at 6am and 11pm and when gpio 1,1 is that data is send every 10 seconds.

i only need the spikes but when the jacuzzi is in use i want every 10 seconds data

greetings Dennis

If you are using node-red it should be easy, in the esp not so much without adding a rtc module which would need to be programmed to run the esp durring specific hours.
Using ntp, running all the time and selecting data based on time is probably the best solution.

Best and easiest option is to hard wire the esp to the motor or motor timer so it is running when the motor is on and off when it is not. Use the motor timer and ntp.

Theanks for your reply.

I allready solved it :) i used a dedicated esp just for measuring temp and connected the power supply to the pump relay. When the pump goes on esp is powered connects to network and sends data every 10seconds. when the pump is off esp goes off.

Regards Dennis
