Flashing problem (nodemcu)

#1 Post by Khyron » 31 Dec 2016, 09:08

I have a problem with flashing espeasy to a nodemcu board. I have tried both flashing with arduino ide and esptool.py, both seem to flash correctly but on boot I get INIT : Incorrect PID or version!. Esptool.py gives pid and version 0 and arduino PID:4294967295 Version:-1.

I have tried erasing flash but it doesn't help.

Any suggestions?

Also, is there some documentation on what special tricks the esptool accompanied with espeasy does?

Hi,

try this flasher : https://github.com/nodemcu/nodemcu-flasher (Win32 or Win64 release)

I had problems for flashing with included flasher, but this one seems to work as expected.
Good luck ;)
ESPEasy running on ESP-12F self-made modules (with various sensors) and talking to Domoticz (hosted on RPi2)

I don't have windows.

But I changed from nodemcu 1.0 to 0.9 from arduino ide and it worked after that. My board says nodemcy v3.

But I would still like to know whats the difference between the boards, apparently some flashing parameter needs to be different?
