Luxmeter BH1750 reporting time increase
How to set reporting time. At the moment luxmeter report every 20 min. This time is too long.

Re: Luxmeter BH1750 reporting time increase
Hello
there are two parameters which influence the reporting time inside ESPEasy.
- open the ESPEasy website.
- go to "Config"
- locate "Sensor Delay" field.
Sensor Delay says how often ESPEasy "talks" to domotics, openHAB, FEWHM, Thingspeak or whatever.
- go to "Devices"
- click "Edit" for the BH1750 device,
- locate the "Delay" field
This field says how often the sensor itself is read from ESPEasy.
Both fields represent the time in seconds between the events. A "Sensor Delay" of 120 says that the whole ESP data (All connected Sensors)
are send every two minutes to a server.
A "Delay" of 60 inside the task of sensor X says that sensor X is read every minute by ESPEasy.
Remember that some home control servers may have their own delay time on top of these settings.

Thank you.
I have Domoticz. After work i check.I do not remember what i write to this box. Maybe sirgnal is too low. This sensor located inside this box. . Wifi ap is 140m. I check signal with cellular and all was okay. I do not know more at the moment. I use esp-12f. Okay. After work i check and write what and how.

Hello again,
those Wiska boxes are quite fine for this, no metal blocking WiFi.
you may check signal easily - can you connect to the ESP's webpage over that distance? Signal strength?
If the signal is too low there might be a possibility: There is a new edition of the ESP-07, the ESP-07S
http://www.ebay.de/itm/ESP-07S-ESP8266- ... Sw44BYUv8n
This is a ESP-07 in a smaller case (even smaller as the ESP-12E/F) and bigger memory. It has no internal antenna,
just an outlet. Use the 4096-er .bin file, same as f0r ESP-12E/F and NodeMCU 1.0.
You have to use an external antenna and a short cable with I_PEX connector like this one:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/6dBi-2-4GHz-Wire ... Sw6n5XtAER
This gives more distance then the built in antenna.

Re: Luxmeter BH1750 reporting time increase
Thank from answer. I bought from Aliexpress esp-07. Ali is cheaper than Ebay. Yesterday i check wifi signal strenght in home. If i close this esp to box, signal was -66db. If box is open signal is -54db. I use this junction box for esp in same place outdoor and working. Measure battery voltage. I want with this luxmeter switch on my electric boiler if sun is shine. I have only 4 panels and 1060w at the moment. With luxmeter is cheap switch on or off this. No need "expensive" DC ammeter and something from Mysensors. I use signal strenght from this esp to Domoticz dashboard too. Today i test again.
Question. It is possible increase esp-12f wifi signal if i solder 2,4GHz antenna or longer wires for antenna ?

basically it should be possible to get a better signal from the ESP-12F. I assume just a wire is not much better then the printed antenna, both are more or less same.
What might work is to cut off the printed antenna at the "foot" and connect an antenna adaptor ("pigtail"), a coaxial cable the wire to the antenna connection and the shield to ground. Then you may use a standard WiFi antenna with the pigtail cable.
Be aware: High frequencies have a strange and sometimes awkward set of their very own rules. This may work or not, it might damage the ESP 8266 too..
From what i found on the net i'd definitly prefer to use a ESP-07S ( i know, takes some time until Aliexpress delivers.. )

I have antenna with pigtail. Small. I bought from Ali esp-07 but receivng time is long. Easp easy working good with luxmeter and with signal strenght -82db.

Working today. Wifi signal is low. I have question about from deep sleep mode. If i set report time 300 sec. Esp-12f goes to sleep and wake up after 300 sec and connect to wifi network and send data ?

Re: Luxmeter BH1750 reporting time increase
Yes. I've got some temperature/humidity sensors going into deep sleep and sending data every 10 minutes.
Cheers!

I use esp-12f. I need to connect GPIO-16 with the RST pin ?

Re: Luxmeter BH1750 reporting time increase
Yep, right.
The GPIO16 sends a "Wake Up" to the reset.
If this connection is missed, the ESP would start once and then sleep forever

I connect GPIO16 to REST. In Main Settings window Sensor delay needed to set 600=10 min and then sleep mode. In Devices tab edit sensor : Delay need set 0 ?
