im planning to add a ic2 io controller (PCF8574) to a wemos d1 clone, and use the extra 8 or 16 inputs to send switch inputs into loxone via udp - its very easy in loxone to split up a byte into 8 separate digital inputs that represent separate input switches.
my d1 has a number of free gpio pins to use, plus another 8 or more from one or more pfc8574 io expander boards
i could use devices, but i can only create 12, so that wont give me the number of inputs required
the ideal way would be to send the byte(s) for each group of 8 inputs to a loxone udp port, triggered on any change of the byte, therefore any single input change would trigger the new byte to be sent.
ive searched and searched, but not really found an answer how i can do this using a device/rule or the generic udp controller for all 8 or more inputs from an i2c io device
any ideas please
thanks
generic udp controller and i2c io expander help please
