OTA with Sonoff Touch not working

Hi,
I've a couple of Sonoff Touch switches containing the ESP8285 module. Flashing them via USB TTL is no problem. But I still fail to do an OTA upgrade.

I'm aware about the 1MB size limitation and tried the steps described in the wiki. It's no problem to get the upload image running. But as soon as I flash the new image with it the switch doesn't return an seems to be dead. A manual reflash brings it back into life.

As I'm no Arduino and electronics expert I have no idea what's happening. May be it is related to the fact that the 8285 have to flashed with DOUT instead of DIO. But this is even an uneducated guess.

Did someone succeed to do an OTA upgrade with a Sonoff Touch?

Any help would be appreciated. I'm not very fond of disassembling the switches just for update purposes.
