locked topic for issues with releases
Hi Moderators,
Can I suggest a locked topic under software for any posts with "issues with new releases". Recently there have been a few, but spread over different topics and index. I guess the idea is for us to test the new releases, which is great, however the testing outcomes and issues are reported in different topics over the forum and is difficult to look specifically for them. With a locked topic for these issues, will help to consolidate all posts relating to problems with new releases and save time trolling through all the posts, especially those that been proven e.g. old version works, new one does not (and nothing else has change).
Thanks,
Ken

Re: locked topic for issues with releases
Good idea, but currently we haven't had the time. We'll have to discuss how to go about it. In future releases we will be able to post a list like that as a notification within the GUI.

Re: locked topic for issues with releases
With the last release build I added a known issue (MQTT import not working) to the release text, so anyone sees it when downloading.
Is this also a good solution? (as extra to whatever will be decided about locked topics or something other)

I imaging we would like to add it within the GUI or flash tool.

Or on the wiki and allow the frontend to create a direct link using the build date.

Re: locked topic for issues with releases
Hi,
Its great, however that also means extra work for you guys, to avoid extra workload on you developers, I was more thinking of just starting a "locked topic" or "locked forum title" in the index for now; so that forum users can just post any new release related issues there, hopefully it will be self managing. All the "goodies" can be implemented when you guys have some time (you must have so many todos and priorities now!).
Thanks,
Ken

I'm gonna do that. I see your point very clear now.kenkoknz wrote: ↑12 Sep 2018, 02:03 Hi,

Re: locked topic for issues with releases
Hi,
The "Release Information [Sticky]" is really useful for us to refer to for proven issues with release. This saves us a lot of time.
Thanks again,
Ken
