I have only just received one of these Nova SDS011 PM2.5 Sensors. It is working correctly in ESPEasy, so thank you for those involved in integrating this into the system.
Now looking at some of the documentation, I have noticed that the device, specifically the laser, only has an estimated operational life of 8,000. I am sure that its output will degrade prior to this. I am not sure if the sensor does some kind of the self calibration to compensated for this.
How are others turning off their sensors to prolong their life?
I think I read somewhere that there is a command that can be sent to the sensor to put it into a sleep mode, which turns off the laser and fan. It would be great if this setting could be included in the ESPEasy driver.
Mean while I might arrange a relay to turn off power to the sensor.
