ESPEasy on Shelly Dimmer 2

I’m looking into replacing some of my Homematic Dimming Actors with Shelly Dimmers 2 running ESPEasy. Questions are as follows:

• Fully supported by ESPEasy? Setting & reading dim values?
• Which device/plug-in to use?
• Can the two switch inputs be read independently or are those in parallel?

I actually find that Shelly devices works fine with standard firmware and MQTT. Not much need for flashing

I know the initial Shelly devices used 2MB of flash, which is a bit non-standard for ESP devices.
I do see these Shelly Dimmer 2 units can operate without a neutral line (probably not on all kinds of loads), so I wonder how well it is powered when the load is off.
Tasmota mentions there is an STM32 on board, probably for the dimming, which also has its own firmware.

Given that there is a microcontroller in there, I don't think this device will have everything supported in ESPEasy.
At least I haven't had one of those here.

No MQTT running here. Can it be also operated using the standard firmware, but without the Shelly cloud? I’m thinking of http requests and e.g. JSON output.

The original Shelly ones were just ESP8266 with 2M flash.
Very much like the Sonoff Basic, but then more usable due to flash (and reliability of design)

So you can run anything on it.

Just be aware that most of those units do not have galvanic isolation from mains.
So don't wire anything to it which may be touchable.
