How send MQTT Openhab command to switch on led?

I tried to send command via mqtt to switch on a led

Like
/NodeMCU1/gpio/0:command

and the message "1" or "0"
Nothing happened - It has worked earlier if I remember correct?

Tested with R78 and now also R101

Can't find a list of possible commands...
