Log UDP Wireshark port 8266

#1 Post by betux » 04 Jan 2025, 17:42

Hi,

I create 60 captors (temp, CO2 ..) for my work.
I try to list broadcast on my network and i see a lot of line like this :

37422 306.995170 10.28.202.181 255.255.255.255 UDP 110 8266 → 8266 Len=68

I don't understand the need to use port 8266.
I think it's link to node but i don't use it.

How i can stop this ?

Thanks

UDP Port 8266 is an official IANA registered port for ESPEasy p2p network.
You can simply disable this p2p announcement (and also any p2p traffic) by setting the UDP port on the Tools->Advanced page to 0.

This will also remove any p2p time sync, so you may also need to check the checkbox to enable NTP (also on Tools->Advanced page)
