how to enable colored weblogs

#1 Post by chromo23 » 30 Apr 2025, 10:08

I have an old version of ESPEasy(2020) which colors commands differently than the rest. New versions do not seem to have this anymore.
For quick debugging, I find this super helpful.
Is there an option to enable this feature?

Ok, found it myself.
The Web Log Level under /Tools/Advanced is the place to look for :)
Almost forgot about it....

Even though, it would be nice to have in the "Info" level at least an distinction between e.g. commands and just info.
Switching to a higher Web Log Level also means more information, which is not always helpful, even with different colors

Not 100% sure I understand what you're asking for.
Do you mean adding a separate color for 'info' log level so you can distinguish it from echo'ed commands and replies from those commands?

Something like that. Actually I haven't thought this trough :) But I think of all issued command (starting with "ACT:") and the content of logentry (in another color)
Or only the content of logentry would be probably a start...

But for now let's concentrate on the new release... this thread was just a side effect of testing and is not an urgent matter :)
