After old firmware Release 147

I've got a Sonoff SV here which I can't seem to get working on any recent build. I managed to find the following post:

It seems to work correctly with an old build - ESP Easy build 147. Could anyone please point me in the right direction as to where I could find this release (as a binary) ?

I have been through the full release history at https://github.com/letscontrolit/ESPEas ... es?page=36 and this build is missing.
And it's also not available at the "old" releases at https://sourceforge.net/projects/espeasy/files/.

Note that the hardware won't work with ESP Easy Build 120 (the last available on the sourceforge.net site).

Most likely your unit only has 512kB of flash storage, and the minimum for ESPEasy has been 1MB flash for over 5 years, as it has become impossible to support units with 512kB flash due to the size of the Arduino framework and the core-features provided by ESPEasy.

When buying new ESP devices, you are strongly advised to get ESP32 units, with a minimum of 4MB flash, (we also support ESP32 with 8MB and 16 MB flash), that are more future-proof. ESP32 units supported include the ESP32 "Classic", Solo1, S2, S3 and C3, and preliminary support for the C2 and C6 models.

Some further investigation suggests that this device does have 1MB flash memory.
A more plausible explanation would probably be that the flash chip used in the Sonoff SV is of an incompatible type. The solution for that is the PUYA fix, that is included in some ESP8266 builds.

Can you try to install the "custom_274_ESP8266_1M" on your unit, as that's one of the builds that has this fix included.

Please note you can't update via OTA on an 1MB flash unit.
So you need to flash via serial.

You could consider replacing the flash chip for a 4M version, which makes updating a lot (!!) easier.
Also 1M builds are quite limited to make it all fit.
