Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I tried searching for an answer in the forum but it seems like the search is broken, or may be I am doing something wrong.
I have a Nodemcu V3 (12E), I recently flashed the ESPEasy fw on it and got the chance to look around the settings. I followed the Domoticz tutorial for virtual switch but unfortunately it is not working. In the end of the tutorial it says, if I am using Nodemcu, then I should toggle the Flash button. Toggleing the Flash button does turn the GPIO-0 on/off but then it beats the purpose of using ESPEasy right?
So, my question is, what am I doing wrong?
Some observations: In ESPEasy, it asks for the Domoticz Controller IP and port. I am trying to use Domoticz from my Win 10 pc. When I open Domoticz, it does not show the Controller IP but just the port. On the browser the ip it shows it "http://127.0.0.1:8080/#/Dashboard". So, is that the reason why my NodeMcu is having troubling connecting? The ESPEasy setup by default gives Domoticz an IP of 192.168.0.8. Do I need a Domoticz account to get this working? Thanks!

Hi,
If you can show a screen capture of your device setting in ESPeasy i could maybe help.

Unless you know the code, it has no meaning.

The Controller IP is the IP address of the computer where Domoticz is installed.I am trying to use Domoticz from my Win 10 pc. When I open Domoticz, it does not show the Controller IP but just the port.
If you do not have an IP address reserved for this computer in your router, it will most likely change over time causing problems.
Also, I have never tried running Domoticz on Windows, it works great on Linux and it might work fine on windows, but I find Windows (Especially Windows 10) to be a real pain for anything like this.

Re: ESPEasy-Domoticz switch tutorial not working.
Thanks for the reply to both of you guys. I read somewhere about the static ip, so instead of fiddling with Win 10, I have decided to use the Raspberry Pi that was collecting dust. I have to agree with you Drum that it was much easier to take that route. I finally got the Nodemcu with ESPEasy to communicate with Rasp Pi with Domoticz. I got the temp sensor DHT11 to work but unfortunately still can't use the dummy switch from the tutorial mentioned above to work. Am I missing anything?Drum wrote:The Controller IP is the IP address of the computer where Domoticz is installed.I am trying to use Domoticz from my Win 10 pc. Re: ESPEasy-Domoticz switch tutorial not working.
I think the most missed thing for ESPEasy and Domoticz is the idx number, In any case don't give up on it, it works. I am not using Domoticz right now as I want to have more flexibility with the data, but once you figure out what it needs it needs to work.
If you still can't get it to work send screenshots of the ESPEasy configuration page and Device, Device configuration pages. Also maybe the Domoticz page showing the devices as well.
