hi there,
I just set up Mosquitto Mqtt broker on Ubuntu 14.04 easily (after doing the remove-and-reinstall trick described in another tread of this forum), and I have these suggestions to the developers' group:
1. send also total variables (i.e. in pulse counters) in Mqtt publishing (domoticz will ignore it, but other mqtt broker let you use it)
2. enable userid and passwd in mqtt connection: i.e. cloudmqtt.com, a public mqtt broker, requests this.
The idea is to use any mqtt broker, to access the esp directly from everywhere....
Another direct experience: If we mess up flash area, for example by configuring some wrong device, could be nice to clean it (i.e. restore "factory" defaults), so, assuming you are on a nodemcu 0.9, 1.0 or 2.0 board:
3. if you power on the system with user button (GPIO16) pressed, the system erases the flash and reboots.
Do you find they could be useful ?
thanx & regards
paolo
