Displaying values from MQTT in LCD display?

I read the documentation about LCD displays and was wondering did I understand it correctly that I can't display MQTT values in LCD, only local sensors? For example I have a topic that sends the outside temperature, I can't display this?

I would rather not make a script that sends the same values I allready have through http.

Hi.

Search for 'MQTT Import'. It's an add-on which allows you to subscribe to MQTT topics and use them locally.

I use it to bring up a Temperature Setpoint on an OLED display for a heating controller.
