Unable to program SONOFFs now ... R120 and R200

#1 Post by femuruy » 11 Sep 2017, 14:41

Hi Guys, i programmed so far 100 SonOffs with R120 but now out of the blue i am trying to program a new batch of 10 Sonoffs and i am totally unable to make them work with R120 and after programming the ESP_0 WiFi network never shows up, tried to use also R200.11 and same result
Please help! i am totally lost now it must be something on mi side but can't determine what!

some more info:
- tried a new programming cable and FTDI adaptor, same result
- the modules were working fine with their regular firmware
- Tried also using esptool.exe and FlashESP8266.exe ... same result :(

Another request, does anyone has at hand a backup of the sonoff original firmware? i would like to try to restore that

Thank you in advance for your time!

Hi mate thank you for your reply, i actually saw that post but my scenario is different, i am using esptools not Arduino IDE to load the firmware, also i connect after the upload to 220V and the programmer (with a FTDI chip) already worked with 100 Sonoffs before this batch so i am still lost

You cannot use the ESPTOOLS for that. You need (as current status of the ESPTOOLS) to use the Arduino IDE (or other IDE) too change the flash write mode. DOUT is the needed write mode.
ESP Easy Flasher [flash tool and wifi setup at flash time]
ESP Easy Webdumper [easy screendumping of your units]
ESP Easy Netscan [find units]
Official shop: https://firstbyte.shop/
Sponsor ESP Easy, we need you

Thank you for your reply!, will try that tonight. Anyway ESPTOOL was included in both packages i downloaded, for R120 and for RC200.11 Just wondering why it worked with the first batch and not with the second!

Search function shows several threads about this problem and the reason.
Itead changed to another chip manufacturer for the flash chip so the last batches
just do not work with esptool anymore as they need other parameters (DOUT)
