I am testing this 8266 module with oled display: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/ESP8266 ... 28965.html. I chose mega firmware for support of 128x32 format. The oled display starts OK but dies after 10-120 seconds. After that other functions work OK, but in i2c scanner I no longer see the oled display. Only cold reset helps to make the oled work again. Changing timeouts or pressing button does not help.
The log indicates some sort of crash. The log is here in the pastebin: https://pastebin.com/raw/JHwQFB9Q
Is this some sort of compatibility issue or I am using too unstable firmware?
Firmware used: ESP_Easy_mega-20180321_test_ESP8266_4096.bin
ESP_Easy_mega-20180321_normal_ESP8266_4096.bin - same result
ESP_Easy_v2.0-20180321_normal_ESP8266_4096.bin - same result, except no 128x32 resolution supported so only every other line is displayed
I tested this board with arduino example - oled works fine and stable.
ESPeasy loses i2c OLED after about a minute or less.

Please have a look at this thread on Github.
https://github.com/letscontrolit/ESPEasy/issues/1031
In short, these boards may have some reset pin connected to the OLED display.

Problem solved!
Thank you, TD-er!
Used regular SSD1306 plugin (not framed), set GPIO16 to high, mega firmware
