Delay() in "case PLUGIN_READ:" problematic?

Is it problematic to use a "Delay(65);" in the "case PLUGIN_READ:" function?
I am working on a plugin for the SRF02 ultrasonic range finder and need a delay between the sensors transmit and receive function.
