Webserver HMI/GUI Code Generation Tool?

One of the features of ESPEasy is that we can upload custom web pages to SPIFFS. And any ESP8266/ESP32 project can act as a web server as well. It is a nice way to create a HMI GUI for our home automation projects. Especially since there are times I want to host the web page on the device, not host it somewhere else (e.g. Node-RED, OpenHab).

My custom web pages have been simple and boring. I'd like to add a more professional look to them (pretty buttons and sliders) and utilize websockets. This is certainly possible with hand coding, but I dread writing html, css, and java code.

So I've been searching without success for an online tool that automates some of the code generation. If this does not exist, then does anyone have any tips on taking the pain out of it?

I'm glad you dropped by since you're ESPEasy's web GUI developer. The new interface looks promising. Especially if it gives us total freedom to create our own ESPEasy GUI.

But sometimes I don't use ESPEasy. I'm also a ESP8266 / ESP32 user that builds projects with my own firmware. I need to create better looking web GUI's for these projects too. So I am still looking for tools to help do it.

The new GUI is stand alone so you can use it without the ESP Easy back end.
