Using HM-MOD-UART-AW-SH-2 with D1 mini
Hi all,
I have eQ-3 HM-MOD-UART-AW-SH-2 with D1 mini using mega-20200721
Set up 'Communication - Serial Server' device.
The HM-MOD-UART-AW-SH-2 is connected via connection shield, see pics.
How to set up for swapped TX/RX communcation?
thx

First of all, please do not use a minus in the task name, as that may lead to issues if you try to use it in rules.... as we found out about a week ago
As far as I can see, this plugin is not yet using the ESPEasySerial wrapper, so you cannot use other serial ports, like it is used in any other plugin using UART.
I thought someone mentioned it a while ago too, but right now I can't find any (open) pull request for it to make that plugin use this wrapper.

thx, so which serial device plugin in normal build is recommended to be used for this?

I have no idea what you want to do here.
P087 is mainly to receive strings from the connected serial device and send them to a MQTT controller.
You can also send strings to the serial device via commands.

Re: Using HM-MOD-UART-AW-SH-2 with D1 mini
I want the D1 mini to connect via serial to the HM-MOD-UART shield and send to FHEM controller.
Re: Using HM-MOD-UART-AW-SH-2 with D1 mini
I don't know what that shield does.
So I cannot tell you whether it is useful or not.
Like I said, the P087 just reads lines (terminated by either CRLF or LF) from the selected serial port and forwards it to the connected MQTT controller.
And you can send some strings to the selected serial port via the command "serialproxy_write"
If that's how you would like to interact with it, then it is usable.
It was originally intended to interact with the CUL firmware, but for that one I made a new plugin.

Re: Using HM-MOD-UART-AW-SH-2 with D1 mini
So then it must be -for now- done using the default pins of Serial0.
Not sure why this plugin isn't converted to use the ESPEasy Serial wrapper.
When I created that wrapper, I had looked at all plugins interacting with an UART and converted them.
So there probably is a good reason why this one isn't yet converted, but right now I don't know why.
