#1 Post by joyride1176 » 10 Nov 2022, 05:04

Hello everybody

I'm going crazy loading espeasy on a th sonoff (older version)
I succeed to upload the new firmware via USB tll procedure but when I turn the sonoff back on, I can connect to its wireless but from here I can't go further

I can't connect to configure it if I try with 192.168.4.1 it gives me connection refused

I have tried with different tools and releases, November 2022 or last year release, but I have I always have the same problem

Ideas how to configure WiFi?

I've tried esp flasher gui to set up new WiFi ssid password and ip but after reboot only esp AP is available

Thank you

Marco

Those Sonoff 1MB units really give me headaches.
Especially regarding WiFi.

A few things to keep in mind with these:
- Power supply is extremely tricky with Sonoff Basic and other 1M units (Sonoff POW, which has 4MB, doesn't appear to be this picky)
- WiFi on some units only seems to work when powered via mains power
- NEVER!!! connect the PC to these units when powered via mains power. (Really DON'T!!!)
- It has been a big struggle for all of us to get WiFi running fine on all builds/units for over 4 years. Please also try bin files with "Alt WiFi" in the name.
- Especially when a unit has been used with any older firmware (e.g. Tasmota/Espruna/ESPEasy), make sure to flash a blank firmware first to erase any WiFi calibration info stored by the SDK as the format of this data has been changed between SDK versions.

You can also set the WiFi credentials via the serial console. For this you don't need the flasher tool, but can also use some tool like Putty.

Code: Select all

wifissid,MyWiFiSSIDName
wifikey,MyTopSecretPassword
save
After it was saved, the ESP may still have issues connecting to WiFi, but after a reboot/power cycle this may work better.
