PMS7003 and MHZ19 ??

#1 Post by vincen » 27 Jun 2017, 12:38

Hi

Now that I have setup fine one of my ESP with ESP Easy and my Home Assistant system I'm looking to use these two sensors on my ESP. I have a MHZ19 (Co2 Sensor) which is supposed to be supported but it's not present in list of devices on my ESP :( Why ? my version is up to date I think ?

Code: Select all

Build:	20000 - Mega
GIT version:	v2.0.0-dev10
Plugin sets:	[Normal]
Core Version:	2_3_0
Flash Size:	4096 kB
I'd like also to interface with PMS7003 (dust sensor) but I found nothing here or website. Did someone tried something already with it ?

Thanks

Vincèn

Hello Vincén,

ESPEasy is a quick developing firmware and the sources are changed and expanded every day.

So it is possible the the modules for the MHZ and PMS are not in the 2.0.0-Dev10 build
or they might still be in the development or testing branches. Can't say exactly as i
can't access github from my job's office.

There is a plugin for the PMS5003, as far as i know very new so most likely it is not in the dev-10.
As the first number (PMS5003 or PMS3003) are just a generation marker,
all these PMSx003 sensors should work with the new plugins or at least the plugin should be easy to adapt.

You might try to install platformIO or the Arduino IDE and compile your own ESPEasy from
the up to date sources and with or without the development and testing plugins.

Hi Shardan

Thanks a lot for explanations so yep would go definitively to try the dev branch but I'm just completely lost on github as I find only main and mega branch but I don't see a dev branch for download to compile :( I'll then follow this tutorial to build by myself in Arduino IDE or platformio: https://www.letscontrolit.com/wiki/inde ... are_Upload

Update: gave up on building my own firmware as tutorials on website are missing too much steps and outdated for some parts and not enough used to such tools to be able to fill gaps :( I guess I have to find an other firmware to load on my ESP boards as this one is too complicated to handle for me unhappy :(

Please come back and tell me what other firmware that meets your requirement for being not complicated. :)

I find ESP Easy top notch in that aspect (being easy I mean).
ESP Easy Flasher [flash tool and wifi setup at flash time]
ESP Easy Webdumper [easy screendumping of your units]
ESP Easy Netscan [find units]
Official shop: https://firstbyte.shop/
Sponsor ESP Easy, we need you

You are right that ESP Easy is a lot easier to setup and falsh than NodeMCU :D
I found the binaries with beta/alpha new drivers but unhappy Wifi with it is pretty unstable :( Module comes online in network few seconds, then disconnect then come back few minutes later :( (No problem with other modules that have non beta firmware !!
