no connection to ssid

#1 Post by Homer-S » 04 Feb 2018, 22:20

Hello

I am using v2.0 to access my homenet

I followed exactly the tutorial.
All is running like expected but when I entered ssid and my pass it is going into an endless loop to enter the ssid stuff.

I found a fitting threat but without an end/solution.
Do you have an idea where to look for a solution?
Might be my pass a problem? it contains special characters, could it be a unicode issue?

Thanks

Can you see what label is written on the flash chip? (e.g. "PUYA") And the ESP chip? (ESP8266/8285)
Or is the ESP + flash chip covered with a metal shield?

And what version (filename) of the firmware did you use?

I added two pictures to answer your questions.

I flashed this one:

OK, Wemos D1 mini should work without issues.

What kind of special characters do you have in the SSID or password?

There is a %! inside

Funny story:
As desperate I was i used this one:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3934

after flashing it showed same behavior.
Today when i tried it again (plugged USB in the Laptop) it connected and it is working ...

with all attempted before even with un-/plug cable it did not work ...

Thanks anyway for your support.

Aha, the percent character is not recommended for sure. We need to add information on the wiki. Thanks!

Was it one of the newer builds that eventually worked?
Or did you set the Wifi password via another route?

It could be my flash wrapper that didn't like the percent character...
