Ok, I've tested some more tonight and on a second Sonoff with R108 and R120 I have no problem. Seems stable (been reloading the log files page in loop for the last 15 minutes).
I have also tried R108 on my first Sonoff but it is still not stable. It seems that the problem comes from my Sonoff device then and not from the version of Easy ESP used.

is there somebody who modded the Sonoff ( 5 pin version) with an external antenna ? I'am having some issues with connecting a sonoff to the WiFi because it's build in a garden lamp ( made of iron : seems to give a farraday issue)

I've got two Sonoff WiFi modules and I loaded it with 1024kB R120.

It starts up fine and I can get in to ESP_0, but I am struggling to get it to connect reliably to my wifi network.

I have two networks, the main one it seems to connect to but I can't load the config pages reliably ("took too long to respond"). However when I connect it to the other network it is a bit more reliable. The main network that is unreliable is connecting to a DD-WRT router which is a Buffalo AC1900 router with dual wifi channels (N and AC). The secondary network is a fairly unexciting ISP router with 2x2 AC. The problem is that the ISP router is behind a firewall as far as Domoticz is concerned which is a shame because it only allows one way control also it still isn't reliable.

I am wondering if I should go up or down in versions? I also find it interesting that some people aren't experiencing problems, could there be some hardware inconsistency?

I need help....

I have the sonoff th with the 5 holes.
I have 10 of them...and bricked already 5 of them

I have read this threat but nothing seems to help.

I am using a USB BUB II and since a long time I am flashing several boards with it without any issue.(Yes I use 3v3 on power and transmit receive)
I plug the sonoff and it is flashing the leds...so it is powering up ok.
I reconnect with the switch down for 10 sec or longer, start flashing software (used several types. several versions of espeasy, several sizes...)
RX and TX are flashing for a few seconds (so I suppose RX and TX are correctly connected)...
And than it stops...with an error depending on the software.
If I reconnect the device I never see the RX anymore...only the TX...

It should be so easy...I know...but it does not work.
I have several other esp's working on espeasy and I would love to have these sonoff's working with espeasy.

What is wrong?...please help before all 10 are bricked

Please, tell us step by step what are you doing to flash it

Are you pushing the button before power with the USB adaptor?

Step 1 - Find the right flash size of your module
Step 2 - Download the zipfile here: Firmware and unpack to a folder of choice.
Step 3 - Double Click "flash.cmd". A command windows should start with three questions.
Step 4 - Select the com port that your module or FTDI module is using
Step 5 - Select the flash size, 512, 1024 or 4096 1024
Step 6 - Select the build version like 108 or newer.

Resolved,

It has been a long night

but I finally found it.
Strange...very strange but the sonoff units I have with the USB BUB II set-up is unable to be flashed with the standard tool provided by espeasy (esptool.exe flash.cmd). Instead I used the https://github.com/nodemcu/nodemcu-flasher nodemcu flasher software.

However, and this for those having the same problem, I needed to push the button UNTIL THE FLASHING has started. So way over the 10 sec. after the power-up. Not sure why, perhaps one of the real experts

can answer this.

I tried several times with the standard tool but in my setup and with my 10 units I was unable to flash them with the standard tool.
I expect some timing errors as I saw that the esptool flasher was sending and receiving some bytes but stopped waiting for an answer of the sonoff...until time out.

So for those having the same problems

1 Download nodemcu-flasher
2 Select ESPEasy_Rxxx_1024.bin file
3 Hold down the switch of the sonoff unit...
4 Power-up unit...
5 Still hold the switch down...
6 Start nodemcu flasher...
7 If RX TX lights from USB BUB II FDTI unit are flashing you can release the switch...However if the flashing stops (I had such a unit) you need to push the switch UNTIL THE END OF THE FLASHING...

Do not ask me why...the above steps worked for my 10 unit...

Mission accomplished....

Interesting persistence needed for the 5 pin device being programmed, thanks for the post.

For the record, I am still using the 4 pin sonoff with R120 and it is rock solid.

System Time: 1:40
Load: 10% (LC=35239)
Uptime: 20099 minutes
Wifi RSSI: -50 dB
Build: 120
Core Version: 2_3_0

Toggle and control done via domoticz with simple rules as fail-safe. Uptime also being posted to Domoticz.

Hi !

Yesterday may SOnOff arrived with a 5pin header. After supply the modul with stabel 3.3V (my USB Serial adapter didn´t offer enough current) all went fine.
Just pressing the button and hold it pressed while you power off the device. Now I uploaded the code from the arduino IDE. And after a reset all was done

But what I really miss is a little option in the webUI to controll the relais state. Some simple page with ON/OFF switches.
I´m thinking about to add such thing

I find it much more convenient to use shortcuts instead of webpages.
I created a shortcut in my notebooks quick access menu that just calls "curl http://<ip-of-sonoff>/control?cmd=event,toggle_lamp"

On my smartphone (Android) I use the "HTTP Request Widget" https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... uestwidget to call the same url.

Hi all. I'm using lots of these Sonoff devices (4 and 5 pin) and for the most they have been solid little machines. However after months of running OK, one by one they stopped responding to MQTT and I had to reboot them. All of them.

Is there a counter, or memory leak or something that would cause this? I am running R124 at the moment.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I can only confirm that I have no issues with the 5 pin Sonoff with the RF module (i don't use RF in the moment....)

As I was very happy with Sonoff "standard" (1 relay), I bought a few Dual version devices. I'm trying to flash them with ESP Easy ... without any success. It seems that the device is not responding.

For flashing I used this picture. Pin: VCC (3.3V), RX, TX, GND

As far as I know the 2 relays are not controlled by GPIOs but via a kind of serial commands, so I am not sure it will be that easy to use both with ESPEasy

We have to send the hex value:
0x00 both off
0x01 relay one on
0x02 relay two on
0x03 both relays on
..but how?

not possible with "vanilla" ESPEasy, you need tro write a specific plugin to drive that Sonoff device...

But I wonder a Little about the INT / E-FW Connection.

Hi,

Recently I received a sonoff basic device with a 5-pin header. Having very good experience with espeasy, I decided to flash r147 (1024) in it.
I was able to configure it and control the GPIO pins via MQTT (openhab), after that the webinterface starts to respond slow (or not et all).

Does anybody else experience this problem?
Is there another version which is stable and could use ?

Yes, I had these problems with two (out of 8) sonoffs as well and don't think it's software related.

On unit is running fine sine since I moved it some centimeters, on the other I tried reflashing, erasing flash and flashing again with multiple versions - WiFi is still unreliable and fails after some time, it was problematic from the beginning even with the original firmware running.
Banggood replaced it without further questions after I described the issue (well, didn't mention the espeasy part explicitly

).

Edit:
Your post encouraged me to tinker again - after erasing and clean flashing again it seems to run stable now (for an hour at least). I'll update here if it becomes unstable again.

One think I've noticed is that they seem to forget the WPA key if you configure it and then immediately powercycle without a manual reboot but that's a different issue.

Same problem here. I have 4 Sonoff with esp easy running on them. They tend to be quite unreliable. webinterface not loading or really slow to load, plug not responding to http command sent from domoticz, ...
I tried different versions of esp easy, but I think it s hardware related and not software related. I ended up giving up on Sonoff and have replaced them by zwave devices

Interesting thing is that via MQTT I can control the LED and relay almost instantaneously but the webpages do not respond or respond very slowly.
I will reflash tonight and see what happens.

That's exactly what I've obseved, too. Not sure if it is due to the webinterface running a seperate server process or just more packets going back and forth. Once I ran into a situation (with the first device mentioned) where the rules page was loading perfectly but did not accept changes at all (no response from server after submitting) - repeatedly...

Btw. I use the attached file to conveniently clear the flash with the espeasy firmware flasher.

I have two. Successfully flashed with ver. 120. Working pretty fine, I actually believe they are an absolute bargain for what they can do. I can emulate all the functions of the original firmware.

BUT
Every few days one or the other randomly resets. It's not a wifi issue, it can't be a power issue. They run warm, but not hot. I have setup an Sysinfo device and tracking uptime in Domoticz, there seems to be no real pattern to the resets.
Anyone have these? Experiencing issues? Most of my other Sonoffs are rock solid. My Slampher is controlling lights for months and is like a Swiss watch...
I will try to re-flash a different build, older and newer and will report back, but maybe someone here is using those without issues?

btw. the ESP easy (Let's control it) Rules function is an absolute godsend. Using the rules I can create as many "dimmer" levels and white yellow LED mixes as I want and Domoticz happily obliges using dummy selector switch.

I received a Sonoff Dual today, it has the SIL F330 chip on it which controls the relays. I would like to use the Sonoff with ESP EASY and Domoticz.
Since i'm new to ESP EASY (and only got an Oled screen and a led working on a NodeMCU v3 board), i don't quite understand how to get the Sonoff working with the F330 chip. Where can i find more information about this?
Flashing the Sonoff shouldn't be a problem, but the working with the F330 chip is a problem.

Hey I got the ESP dual working without any plugins or anything other than basic esp easy
What you need to do is take a wire solder it to the pin of the ESP then solder the other end to the transistor driving the relay. then when you drive the pin high the relay goes high. However the downside of this is you lose the function of your LEDs that note the relays on and off
I will see if I can get a picture tonight of what I did

There is someone that has this woring with his own ESPurna firmware.
Would it in any way be possible to implement his code for controlling the F330 chip into ESPEasy?

opps completely forgot to get the picture, but yes i agree it is dirty and i did it before espruna even had it working. I will keep it, till espeasy has it working

It's not only the Sonoff DUAL that has this additional chip, some other Sonoffs have it too.

The protocol to the secondary Silabs C8051F330 MCU is simple and wouldn't be hard to implement, but would require a plug in. Since the interface between the two MCUs uses the serial port, any other use would have to be disabled. This is unfortunate as the serial port logging function of Esp Easy is very helpful in debugging.

Markus Maeder wrote about the protocol on the itead discussion board. My understanding is It's basically:
19230,8,n,1
0xA0 - Start Byte
0x04 - Number of relays?
0xXX - Status/Command binary mask. Each relay is one bit, relay #1 is 0x01, relay #2 is 0x02, relay #1 and #2 is 0x03
0xA1 - Stop Byte

The protocol is bidirectional. Data from the esp8266 to the C8051F330 controls the relays, and when a button is pressed, the C8051F330 actuates the relays and lets the esp8266 know about it using the same protocol. I haven't seen anything about being able to query the C8051F330 to get the current status.

Did you try to flash the compiled source as it is published by the maker of espurna ?

I think it can work on your dual relais or 4 channel relais very well if you follow the right steps.

Now I will go offtopic a little but this is my very positive experience with espurna:

I flashed my Sonoff-POW with Espurna and it works great. I compiled it myself with Atom editer and PlatformIO plugin. I work under linux and followed this guide:

In linux or windows:
After flashing you login on 192.168.4.1 , username is admin and password is fibonacci. The first thing the firmware wants you to do is create a new password.
New password needs minimal 8 characters with at least 1 Capital and 1 Number.
Than you enter your own user/pass for your local WiFi network and go to there.
There fill in your MQTT Server_IP and Topic_name (I left topic unchanged).

As I use Domoticz I went to the Domoticz tab on sonoff-pow internal webserver and filled in 5 Idx numbers earlier created in Domoticz as Virtual sensors.
1 Power sensor type: Usage_Electric , registers in Watt
2 Energy_Increment type: Counter_Incremental , registers in kWh (WattHours)
3 Voltage type: Voltage , registers in Volt
4 Current type: Ampere(1 phase) , registers in Ampere
5 Switch type: Switch
Enabled a Domoticz hardware device called: MQTT Client Gateway with Lan Interface. IP is IP of my local RasPi server and the port is 1883. The publish topic i set to ´out +/´ .
You can even calibrate the Sonoff-pow in the webinterface by connecting a known resistive device (lamp or heater) and fill in the measured Watts, Current and Voltage in the Power tab and update these values.

I think Espurna is great software and, as most Sonoff´s are dedicated devices, there is no real need to integrate any of the Sonoff devices in ESPEasy. You can so easy use the precompiled source code from Xose Perez from bitbucket.

Espurna not connecting sounds to me that the webpage stored as SPIFSS was not uploaded. Version until 1.7 needed that. Later versions use a different approach. Without the webpage you still can configure from e.g., a terminal. Read : https://bitbucket.org/xoseperez/espurna ... bInterface

I have it working without any problems (using ver 1.6.3 if it's not broken, don't fix

). I use a mix if ESP-Easy, Espurna and Tasmota using MQTT to Domoticz. For me firmware depends on what I try to control. ESP-Easy I mainly use as development tool. Creating more task dedicated firmware after my prototype/setup works.

Same here. I have two Sonoff dual here, i'd like to use for some purposes.
My Sonoff Basic and Four-ch Switches are running nicely with ESPEasy.

+1 get the Sonoff dual running on Espruna, but don''t want to install MQTT because i didn''t use this at all . So please please is there somebody who can get this running ?

I have a Sonoff device that has been working OK for a long time, and now suddenly fails. It cannot be reached via its designated IP address.
When I check Wifi, I can see that it offers the access point, as if it has just been flashed. It comes up as ESP_21, which makes sense since I assigned it to uinit 21.
I can actually connect using the configesp password. But then all attempts to proceed fail. Browser does not come up with the config screen.

Has anyone seen this behaviour? My next step would be to dig the device out (it has been built in), attach to serial and see what can be done.
But given all the effort that would take, are there any other suggestions?

I'm currently using two Sonoff Duals as well, though with the Tasmota firmware using MQTT.
Would love to flash them with ESPEasy, as it is a real delight to work with, and easier to keep all devices around the house on one system.
The most important code regarding the Dual from Espurna seems to be this snippet:
